Whether you're thinking about buying Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone, trying to explain it to everyone else, thinking about what lessons to do, or even choosing a course to start, it can be helpful to know a little bit about the structure of lessons in it. This guide will walk you through the introductory course of the game.
Lessons for Everyone is a 3DS exclusive title, available in both cartridge and downloadable form.
Some of you may be confused: My game is called New Art Academy; is that the same thing? Yes, it is. Nintendo of Europe and Nintendo of America gave the game different titles; this guide uses the American title partly because Art-Academy-Users' founder is American, but also for clarity. There is already a "newer" art Academy than "New Art Academy," after all.
No matter where you buy it, though, Lessons for Everyone has two modes: Lesson Mode, and Free Paint Mode. This guide is about a particular course in Lesson Mode. If you'd like to see what you can do with Free Paint mode, try looking in our Free Paint gallery.
Within Lesson Mode there are three courses to choose from: Introductory, Advanced, and Add-On and Custom. Introductory mode is intended for newer artists, whereas Advanced mode is designed for experienced artists. Add-on and Custom contains lessons that are designed outside of a course and cover particular topics.
If you'd like to see what you can do in the Advanced Course, look in our Advanced Course galleries. We have two, one for lessons, and one for minilessons.
If you'd like to see some great examples of Custom and Add-on Lessons, you can find them in our Custom and Add-On gallery.
This guide will show you all the pictures that can be created in the Introductory course, along with some information on what media you use and what you'll learn.
If you're trying to figure out where to place your image in Art-Academy-Users' galleries, this guide will clearly tell you whether to use the "lessons" or "minilessons" folder for each picture in it. Just look for, well, "Lesson" or "Minilesson" above the picture.
